Seven pillars, one record

Governance, AI governance, catalog, quality, master data, a single source of truth and evidence are usually sold as separate products with separate copies of the truth. Why TellParrot refused to split them.

The market has settled on a shape. Governance is one product. The catalog is another. Data quality is a third, master data a fourth, the audit trail is whatever the fourth one keeps in a table. Each comes from a different vendor, each holds its own copy of the truth, and each describes the same record slightly differently.

The result is a record that is governed in one tool, scored in another, mastered in a third, and audited nowhere in particular.

What one platform changes

TellParrot unifies seven pillars: Data Governance, AI Governance, Data Catalog, Data Quality, Master Data Management, a Single Source of Truth, and Lens, the audit and evidence layer. They are not seven modules bolted to a shared login. They share one knowledge graph that connects records, systems, people, policies and AI.

That sharing is where the value is. A policy attaches to the system it actually governs, and coverage is reported against real records. A quality score sits on the golden record it describes, with the history of when it started failing. A merge decision lands on the evidence chain the moment it is made. A model in the AI register carries a data-compliance score drawn from the governance state of the data it reads. None of that is possible when the four facts live in four products.

Zero silent changes

One principle runs through all seven pillars: nothing changes quietly. A merge waits for a steward. A survivorship weight change needs a reason. An AI agent inside the platform acts only through a proposal a person approves. An export leaves through a governed gate with a receipt. Every one of those decisions is hash-linked to the one before it.

It is a demanding rule, and it is the one that lets a regulated organisation hand its estate to a platform at all.

The seventh pillar is the point

Lens is listed seventh, but it is the reason the other six can be trusted. Detect, decide, act, prove: rule violations paint the canvas, an action-first panel proposes the fix, a person approves it, and the chain records it. An investigation canvas traces how any two records connect. An estate timeline replays what you knew on any date. Governance without evidence is a policy document. Evidence without governance is a log nobody acts on. The platform holds both.

Underneath the seven

There is one more layer, and it is not a pillar. Brains models the organisation itself: a brain for every department, role, person and system, assembled from governed records and interviews, with a gate before knowledge is accepted. Data governance tools model data. TellParrot also models the people and structures the data belongs to, because that is where the tribal knowledge lives, and it is what walks out the door.
